ABOUT SCOUT

Scout has always been surrounded by the wedding industry! Her mother started a wedding company in the home where Scout grew up so she was constantly surrounded by the beautiful attributes of building a wedding from scratch. Scout has always loved creating art and explored many different artistic outlets but she has always been drawn to portraits. 

 

Wedding portraits in fashion illustration style have been a pastime turned career. She believes that when people see a portrait of themselves, they are reminded of how unique and special they truly are.

 

"Seeing genuine happiness from people when they receive a portrait of themselves is such a wonderful feeling. It is as if they are seeing themselves through another perspective, and it reminds them of how special and unique they are. The best feeling is showing someone their portrait and watching them smile at their own reflection!"

 

While doing live sketches of Wedding Portraiture, Scout also works at Golden Goose in Soho, New York as an In-Store Artisan. She has also collaborated with fashion brands and flea markets to display her beaded embroidery. Currently, she is involved in a collaboration with the French workwear brand, Au Boulot. Scout is known for her social justice painting series DMforArt which she has created into a coffee table book and exhibited in multiple gallery shows. Along with DMforArt, Scout has showcased her larger-scale paintings in numerous art exhibitions, most recently her series of 3 framed paintings Paper Hounds.

 

Scout has had her art featured in several exhibitions: Art & Architecture, Art Groove - May, Vivarium -Curated by Alicia Puig, Chocolate and Art, Gamut, Young Contemporaries 39th Annual Student Juried Exhibition, and Young Contemporaries 38th Annual Student Juried Exhibition. Her work has also decorated the venues of several fashion events: New York Fashion Week for Art Hearts Fashion 2022, Los Angeles Fashion Week for Art Hearts Fashion 2022, and New York Fashion Week: SSG Fashion Art Performance. She has also been featured in podcasts to talk about her series DMforArt and mentioned for her DMforArt Series by Up Next Designer on Twitter.
